The Volkswagen Taos is yet another product of the German brand’s offensive in the SUV segment. This year, the company had already launched the Nivus, which debuts the unprecedented category of coupe compact SUV.
Taos arrives in Brazil to try to displace the market leader Jeep Compass , which since 2016 has dominated sales of medium SUVs.The new model should have only two versions in its range of options: Comfortline and Highline. Both will be equipped with the well-known 1.4 TSI turboflex engine with 150 hp and 25.5 kgfm of torque, combined with Aisin’s six-speed automatic transmission.
The SUV should still have the following standard items: full-LED headlights as standard on all versions, LED taillights, six airbags, autonomous emergency braking and parking assistants, adaptive cruise control, 100% digital instrument panel, digital automatic air conditioning, push-button engine start, sunroof and 10-inch VW Play center, which will bring internet connection, app center, USB-C inputs and wireless charging for smartphones.
