The Hilux 2024 has everything it needs to maintain the success that Toyota’s pickup truck has in Brazil. In just the first seven months of 2023, it has already accumulated 25.8 thousand units, compared to just 15.7 thousand for the Chevrolet S10.
In its current line, the Japanese company has 8 versions, including chassis-cab, single cab or double cab options. Furthermore, the GR-Sport sports version continues to stand out for its mechanical package.

Hilux GR-SPORT 2.8 AT 4×4 2024 – 2.8 turbodiesel engine with 224 horsepower and 55 kgfm of torque, with 6-speed sequential automatic transmission and 4×4 traction.

The 2024 Hilux line uses only one engine, but it has different specifications depending on the model chosen. This includes the more expensive GR-Sport option, which previously even used a V6 gasoline engine.
Looking at the current Toyota pickup range, the chassis and single cab versions use the 2.8 turbodiesel engine with direct injection, which delivers 204 hp at 3,400 rpm and 42.8 kgfm of torque at 3,400 rpm.
In this case, it always comes with temporary all-wheel drive and a 6-speed manual transmission, with a single-disc dry clutch.
Jumping to the double cab configurations, only the cheapest STD Power Pack uses this same set. The others, also with a 2.8 engine, deliver 50.9 kgfm at 2,800 rpm, in addition to the same power mentioned above.
In addition, they use a 6-speed automatic transmission, with torque converter, and also offer 4×4 traction.
Finally, we have the top-of-the-line Hilux GR-Sport. With several mechanical modifications, it comes with a 2.8 turbodiesel engine with 224 hp at 3,000 rpm and 55 kgfm of torque at 2,800 rpm. Gearbox and traction do not change.
