Hardcore version of the car goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and is faster than the Porsche 911 Turbo S

Chevrolet never officially brought the legendary Corvette to EUA. So it’s up to the independent importers to offer the famous American muscle car in the country. And Direct Imports, a company specializing in the subject, offers the most hardcore version of the sports car: the Z06 . But to have the model’s 680 hp available, the buyer will need to pay no less than $500.

The car is available in Rapid Blue color with Sky Cool Gray interior. The Corvette Z06 emerged in late 2021 with a powerful 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine .

This propellant is used in the C8.R, the competition Corvette, and built with an aluminum block, forged aluminum pistons and flat crankshaft, which allows the engine to spin more and also contributes to an (even) more visceral snore. No wonder the sports car reaches up to 8,600 spins. Maximum torque is 65.6 kgfm and the V8 maintains the center-rear layout .

The powertrain is completed by a dual-clutch gearbox with eight gears and shorter ratios, allowing the Z06 to accelerate faster than the Stingray , which reaches close to 500 hp. 0 to 100 km/h is accomplished in 2.6 seconds – 0.2 s less than Porsche officially discloses in the 911 Turbo S, with 650 hp.

Also present is the electronic limited-slip differential, which works in conjunction with the track-specific mode traction system, which allows five torque reduction settings and brake interventions.

Speaking of brakes, the Z06 comes with 370mm discs with six-piston calipers up front and 380mm four-piston Brembo calipers behind. The 20” front wheels are shod with 275/30 ZR20 tires and the 21” rear wheels are fitted with 345/25 ZR21 Michelin tires.

Inside, carbon fiber appears on the steering wheel and door trim. There are three seat options and six seat belts. Head up display is also standard on the model.

According to Chevrolet, the sports car is offered in coupe and convertible bodies , with 12 external color options, seven internal and six brake calipers. Seven different wheel designs will also be available, which can be either forged aluminum or carbon fiber. Recently, Chevrolet presented the unprecedented hybrid version of the Corvette , with 655 hp. Despite being less powerful than the Z06, the E-Ray is 0.1 s faster – with 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 s .
